‘In wat voor land leef ik eigenlijk’ (In What Kind of Country Do I Live?) is a biographical exhibition dedicated to Anil Ramdas (1958–2012). The exhibition explores the life and work of this writer, journalist, and intellectual. As a prominent voice in debates on identity, diversity, and post-colonialism in the Netherlands, Ramdas's legacy remains as relevant and urgent as ever.

The exhibition features a graphic timeline of Ramdas’ life, enriched with TV and video recordings, newspaper clippings, books, and personal objects. This unique presentation provides an intimate look into his personal and professional journey. Alongside the visual display, we are hosting activities and discussion evenings. These events will delve into topics such as identity, friendship, the responsibility of intellectuals in public debate, and the importance of cultural diversity in a changing society.

Karin Amatmoekrim (Paramaribo, December 25, 1976) is a Surinamese-Dutch author. In 2023, she earned her PhD at Leiden University with a dissertation on the life of Anil Ramdas.
