The never-ending discussion about photography as an art discipline will be stirred up and enriched van the vantage point of documentary photography. Is there a remarkable difference between the genres and is it desirable at all to make this difference? In a one hour conversation Ad van Denderen and Annelies Kuiper will talk about their work, views on photography and ambitions for the future.

Ad van Denderen shows his work at West and at the Museum of Photography in The Hague. His work can be found in the collections of Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Prentenkabinet in Leiden, Forum Stadtpark in Graz, Austria en several private collections. Annelies Kuiper is a photo-editor NRC Next and since may 2009 promotor documentary photography at Foundation BKVB.

De eeuwige discussie over fotografie als kunstdiscipline zal worden aangewakkerd en verrijkt vanuit de invalshoek van de documentaire fotografie. Is er een noemenswaardig verschil tussen de genres en is het überhaupt wenselijk om dit verschil te maken? In een conversatie van een uur gaan Ad van Denderen en Annelies Kuiper in gesprek over hun werk, visie op fotografie en ambities voor de toekomst.

Ad van Denderen toont op dit moment is zijn werk bij West en in het Fotomuseum Den Haag. Zijn werk bevindt zich in de collecties van het Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, het Prentenkabinet in Leiden, Forum Stadpark in Graz, Oostenrijk en in diverse privécollecties. Annelies Kuiper is een voormalige fotoredacteur NRC Next en sinds mei 2009 intendant documentaire fotografie bij het Fonds BKVB.
